ALPhANOV had the pleasure of welcoming Theodor Hänsch, 2005 Nobel Prize in Physics

Theodor Hänsch is a German physicist. He was co-recipient of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Physics.

Theodor Hänsch and John L. Hall were awarded for their pioneering and revolutionary work on "the development of laser-based precision spectroscopy, including the optical frequency comb technique".

ALPhANOV welcomed Theodor Hänsch at its premises and gave him a visit of its laboratories. During the visit, Theodor Hänsch was introduced to ALPhANOV various activities, including a fiber laser platform for advanced development in nonlinear optics (including the development of a new generation supercontinuum source). He was presented with ALPhANOV fully developed IC test station, before concluding his visit with an enthusiastic discussion of a medium high-power femtosecond machining platform for laser surface texturing.

During the visit, ALPhANOV also took the opportunity to present to Professor Hänsch a frequency doubling module incorporating the laser frequency stabilization technique, which the Nobel Prize is co-inventor of, known as Hänsch-Couillaud.
