Amplifying innovation through collaboration between research and industry

ALPhANOV, through its capacity to mobilize competencies and expertise in the field of optics and lasers, acts as a "technological amplifier" serving innovative projects for research scientists, engineers, laboratory specialists, SMEs and corporate industrial groups.

ALPhANOV's expertise and technological resources serve four main missions :
  • Participating to the creation and development of companies by providing competitive edge based on innovative solutions that meet their expectations.
  • Enabling the valorization of laboratory research and technology transfer.
  • Building collaborative projects, bringing technologies to maturity and accelerating the introduction of products to the market.
  • Making optical and laser resources/services available.
Activities adapted to the needs of your project
  • Collaborative projects
Development and/or implementation of products or processes, in partnership with companies and research laboratories.  The partners establish contracts based on joint objectives and shared return by drawing on each other’s expertise and resources.
  • Services
Evaluation, technical support for companies, feasibility studies of manufacturing processes, or technical services (micro-machining, optical design, metrology).
  • Shared equipment platform
Access to a shared equipment platform, dedicated resources for companies and laboratories, technical assistance.
  • Advising companies
Micro-consulting for SMEs, assistance and project engineering.
  • Technological watch
ALPhANOV provides the highest level of competency through technological research developed in collaboration with laboratories.
5 fields of excellence
  • Laser processes and micro-machining
From feasibility studies to prototype fabrication.  Large pool of lasers providing the capability to meet a wide range of needs for micro-fabrication (patterns from 10 µm to a few millimeters).  On varied materials: metals, polymers, crystals, etc.
  • Laser sources and instrumentation
Collaborative development of laser sources (latest generation of continuous lasers, Q-switched or mode-locking; Crystal or fiber lasers, large mode).  Technological application requiring innovative sources
  • Optical development and imagery
Design, analysis and tolerancing of combinations and optical systems (ZEMAX©); design and fabrication of optical-mechanical benches; metrology of wave surfaces and measurement of optical performance
  • Terahertz applications
Development and implementation of spectroscopy and imagery designs.  Industrial and scientific partnerships concerning Terahertz emission, transport, and radiation detection
  • Medical applications
Optical and laser solutions for medical and life sciences markets: biological imagery, instrumentation, laser eye surgery
