Our joint laboratories

Over the years, ALPhANOV has developed strong relationships with several academic and industrial partners.

Numerous joint R&D projects have led to the creation of several joint laboratories.

Joint Laboratory with Eshard

For over 10 years now, Eshard and ALPhANOV have combined their expertise—since 2015—to offer international cybersecurity stakeholders cutting-edge tools for the analysis and security assessment of microelectronic components.

The application laboratory is equipped with the latest generation of laser and optical equipment, as well as the esDynamic scientific platform for the security analysis of integrated circuits.

The Vulnerability Test Facility (VTF)

ALPhANOV_VTF

Since 2019, MBDA and ALPhANOV have shared a dedicated laboratory focused on evaluating the effects of high-power lasers on various materials. The VTF (Vulnerability Test Facility) simulates multiple real-world laser firing conditions, including beam pointing imperfections, use against moving and rotating targets, and complex interactions between the laser and target materials.

The lab is also equipped with peripheral devices such as a mechanical load bench, a vacuum chamber (10⁻⁶ mbar), and a laminar flow system.

Award-winning on several occasions, this highly instrumented and automated laboratory enables the safe execution of these tests.

The TRICORN Joint Laboratory

Created in 2023, this joint laboratory is the culmination of 12 years of collaboration between AMPLITUDE, CELIA, and ALPhANOV to develop new laser processes. This partnership also gives the laboratory the opportunity to test new laser functionalities at the prototype stage, keeping it at the forefront of research in its field.

Within this lab, ALPhANOV develops the engineering required to implement these processes, improving productivity and the capacity to process large surfaces through femtosecond laser-based material transformation.

Beyond establishing a legal framework for collaboration and facilitating exchanges between partners, the creation of the TRICORN joint lab has enabled the funding of two CIFRE PhD thesis, the acquisition of new technical and financial resources, and greater visibility.

In addition to the technological and scientific advances, the joint laboratory represents a human adventure and paves the way for new international collaborations.
